Police said they have detained a person of interest in the investigation into the killings of four people at a North Dakota business.

The North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation and McLean County Sheriff's Office are also investigating the case, according to the release. Police earlier declined to release details of a 911 call that alerted authorities to the slayings. The Associated Press and other media outlets asked for audio and a transcript of the 911 call, but police denied the requests, citing a provision of the state's open records law that allows authorities to withhold such information during an active investigation.
