As of Friday, the nonprofit organization Project C.U.R.E. has announced it has found alternative routes into Ukraine for donating its medical supplies.

On February 22, a shipment of donated medical supplies moving from Arizona to Ukraine by Project C.U.R.E. was postponed due to closures of the Odessa Port caused by the invasion of Russian forces. And while those supplies still have yet to ship as of Monday afternoon, the nonprofit organization has officially stated they’ve found a solution to get those supplies into the hands of the Ukrainian medical professionals who need them most.

Within the Tempe warehouse sit boxes upon boxes of plastic-wrapped medical supplies waiting to be donated — everything from biomedical equipment and ultrasounds to baby warmers and one-time-use consumable medical supplies like gloves, syringes and fluids — all to hospitals in need within the now-invaded nation.Project C.U.R.E.

While the supplies still technically sit within a warehouse in the heart of Tempe, the organization’s logistics team announced the organization had found an alternative route for shipping the supplies to Ukraine through a neighboring country.

“Seeing the images of little babies, seeing the image of the president … My granddaughter was just born last year, how would I feel if she was born in a basement? … How scary would that be to know that I am possibly a target? … I don’t know why and I don’t understand and I cannot explain it to the little ones,” Sanchez said.
