No survivors found after floatplane crashes with three on board

No survivors have been located after a Cessna float plane carrying two passengers and a pilot crashed near Strachan Bay, north of Port Hardy, on Wednesday.

“The RCMP and Transportation Safety Board are working together to determine what may have caused the plane to go down.”Victoria’s Joint Rescue Co-ordination Centre was notified of the crash about 1:20 p.m. Wednesday. Two passengers were being transported from a logging camp back to Port Hardy. The plane that went down belonged to Air Cab, said Joel Eilertsen, president of the float plane company based in Coal Harbour.
