The Aurora Greenmen, ranked 20th in this week’s cleveland.com, improved to 3-1 on the season after defeating the Revere Minutemen on Friday, 49-14.
The first quarter saw Revere’s Zach Olechnowicz put his team ahead on an 88-yard fumble return for a touchdown. However, the Greenmen’s Lucas Manderbach and Tommy Tartabini responded with a touchdown each, leading Aurora to a 14-7 lead after one. Aurora’s offense kept the momentum rolling in the second quarter as it scored four consecutive times. Quarterback Brandon Liepins drove in a touchdown of his own. Enzo Catania scored off an interception return of 13 yards and also a 15-yard run. Jayce Unverferth scored on a 14-yard reception from Liepins to pull the Greenmen ahead 42-7 heading into the half.
