“George Ranch played with their hair on fire,” Pearland caoch David Rogers said, “and when they won, it was like Game 7 of the World Series to them.Rogers didn’t let that display go unnoticed to his players. “For us, this could be really good. It’ll make us play a playoff-type game every time we take the field.”“You would think that if you strike them out 13 times and give up three hits that you’d wind up on the winning end,” Rogers said. “It didn’t happen that way for us. George Ranch pitched really well, and they were able to work the corners and expand the zone a little.”
“We had some back luck on the basepaths with a couple of kids that thought they had good dirt-ball reads,” Rogers said. “George Ranch’s catcher just made some great plays.”
