Nintendo has announced that it is acquiring Dynamo Pictures, a Japanese CG company, and will be renaming it Nintendo Pictures.
Dynamo Studios specialises in C.G.I. for animation, films, television, and it has done motion-capture work, as well. Nintendo plans to buy 100% of outstanding Dynamo shares , and expects the deal to close on October 3rd.. That project was related to the upcoming animated Super Mario film. Nintendo Pictures, on the other hand, could be put to use making all sorts of tie-in stuff. Movies, TV shows, what have you. In similar fashion to Sony, who has film divisions, Nintendo could branch out into other sectors.
However, it is worth pointing out that Dynamo has also worked on CG for a number of video games. These include cut scenes for
