KalPa, a hockey team in Kuopio in south\u002Dcentral Finland, has topped its European rivals by selling ad space on the inside of their sweater.
“The outside was sold out,” said Jouni Nieminen, a writer who follows Finnish sports from Canada. “This might be a first in hockey.”
At Monday’s team golf tournament, the Canadiens were all wearing their 2022-23 sweaters with a blue and gold RBC logo in the top right corner. As one of the two oldest NHL teams with the Maple Leafs, they have been the most resistant to any change of their red, blue and white. Recently, the Calgary Flames added centre Cody Eakin and forward Mark Stone, while Vancouver added defenceman Danny DeKeyser after his decade in Detroit.
