by JEFF COX TUSCALOOSA COUNTY , Al. - A former University of Alabama football player, who now plays for the Kansas City Chiefs , is facing animal cruelty charges in Tuscaloosa County .

According to court documents obtained by ABC 33/40 News, Isaiah Buggs is facing two misdemeanor warrants for second-degree animal cruelty. The charges stem from a complaint in late March to the Tuscaloosa Police Department about two dogs being left on the back porch of a Diamond Circle home. Court documents say animal control officers found a grey and white pitbull on the screened-in porch surrounded in feces. Officers also found a black Rottweiler mix locked in a metal cage in direct sunlight. Neither dog had food or water.
