California Gov. Gavin Newsom vetoed AB 1840, which would have given illegal aliens $150,000 for housing through the California Dream for All program because, well, no money.

Gavin Newsom VETOES AB 1840, which would have allowed undocumented people to apply for the state’s first-time home buyer’s assistance program.state funding and money from the “California Housing Finance Agency, which generates revenue through mortgage loans and not from taxpayers.” “Given the finite funding available for CalHFA programs, expanding program eligibility must be carefully considered within the broader context of the annual state budget to ensure we manage our resources effectively,” wrote Newsom.Gov. Noisome’s unstated reason for the veto: “Signing it might have had a negative impact on my future Presidential ambitions.”
He can afford to irritate left-wing California Democrats because he isn’t running for anything this year, and the veto will not cause them to run out and vote for Trump.
