Rhoda Grant is calling for an independent investigation into what happened to DeeAnn Fitzpatrick
Fitzpatrick, who is originally from Bell Island, N.L., but has been living in Scotland for decades, spoke out a few years ago after a photo of her bound and gagged and taped to a chair at her workplace came to light.Fitzpatrick had been working with Marine Scotland and accused her co-workers of cruel and bullying behaviour.
She and her family maintain that many of those allegedly involved in the abuse have been promoted even though she has not been allowed to return to work despite the fact that she was not suspended. Grant, who has represented Fitzpatrick for a decade, raised the matter in the Scottish parliament on Thursday.
