Calling Chard: asparagus and leek risotto with chicken | SaltWireBONAVISTA, N.L. — A 23-year-old woman is facing several charges after allegedly speeding away from police while prohibited from driving in Bonavista on April 22.
Mounties received reports of a prohibited driver on the road along Route 230 near Melrose and located the described vehicle a short time later.RCMP identified the driver as Morgan Runzer and attempted to stop the vehicle, however, police say she sped away, going more than 150 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.
In the interest of public safety, Runzer wasn’t pursued but officers were later able to locate and arrest her at a residence She’s charged with flight from police, dangerous operation, prohibited operation, breach of a probation order and, under the Highway Traffic Act, operating an uninsured and unregistered vehicle.After her court appearance, Runzer was remanded into custody to appear in court again on Friday, April 26.
Bonavista RCMP asks residents to check for any dashcam footage of the involved vehicle speeding on April 22 between 7-7:30 p.m. on Route 230 between Melrose and Port Rexton.
