Towering forward Keenan Suthers also scored twice for the Growlers, while Chris Martenet had the other Newfoundland goal. Suthers also added a pair of assists for a four-point night.In goal, Luke Cavallin made 35 saves to pick up his 20th win of the season.

The win capped an eight-game road trip for the Growlers where the team went 4-4 and outscored their opponents 26-23. Along the way, Zach O’Brien scored his 100th and 101st career goals with the Growlers. On the trip, Newfoundland, who played Maine, Reading, Worcester and Trois-Rivières along the way, pushed their record to 38-16-1.

That’s good enough for 77 points and first place in both the ECHL’s North Division and the Eastern Conference. League-wide the Growlers are tied with the Cincinnati Cyclones for second place and trail only the Idaho Steelheads , who have 87 points.
