JOHN'S, N.L. — Newfoundland and Labrador is introducing a new digital insurance validation program to help theThe program will improve the division's ability to determine whether a vehicle is covered by mandatory insurance.
The program will apply to all passenger-plated, privately owned or leased passenger vehicles with the model year 1983 and later. According to the 2019 Automobile Insurance Review, Newfoundland and Labrador had the highest costs and claim frequency for uninsured drivers of any of the Atlantic provinces.
