New York Times beats revenue estimates on strong digital subscriptions GlobeBusiness
The New York Times Co. beat quarterly revenue estimates on Thursday, as it added more digital subscribers, and the company said it would start rolling out a price rise to some of its online news subscriptions for the first time in nine years.
The Times introduced its web paywall in 2011 to guard against industry declines in print advertising revenue.The company said on Thursday it expects advertising revenues in the first quarter to decline about 10 per cent and digital-only subscription revenue to increase in the high-teens.
