New York Governor Kathy Hochul has temporarily closed all live poultry markets in New York City and three suburban counties after detecting cases of avian influenza. The closure aims to prevent the spread of the disease, which has already affected millions of poultry nationwide and caused a surge in egg prices. Authorities are actively working to mitigate the risk to public health.
