Officials canceled all of spring break for New York public schools and prohibited the use of two popular videoconferencing programs for remote-access learning because of hacking concerns
New York City canceled all of spring break for its public schools and prohibited the use of two popular videoconferencing programs for remote-access learning, according to two Education Department memos sent to staff Friday night.
The public school system’s spring break was set to run from April 9 to April 17. Last week Gov. Andrew Cuomo shortened the break for all schools in the state to just two days off, April 9 and 10, because of the novel coronavirus outbreak.
