Unsurprisingly, there is little Jays’ news today. The team signed Josh Winchowski to a two-year minor league contract. Winchowski is recovering from ‘internal brace surgery’. He’ll likely be able to pitch towards the end of this season, but then he should be good to go the second year.
He’s a right-handed, 27-year-old pitcher who has pitched in parts of the last four seasons with the Red Sox. In all, he’s pitched in 121 games, 21 starts with a 4.20 ERA, 13-14 with 5 saves. He pitched in 60 games in 2023, with a 2.88 ERA, with 82 strikeouts in 84.1 innings. Beyond that, Tatsuya Imai signed with the Astros, per Jon Heyman. Three years, over $20 million a year.
