Pop star Tyler Shaw, now an Ottawa resident, plans to debut a new song on Canada Day that may surprise fans with its rock\u002Doriented style.
Q: Last year was the 10th anniversary of Kiss Goodnight, the tune that launched your career. How did that feel?It made me feel old. I just turned 30 in April. That birthday felt pretty significant. I had a rough 29th year, with the move and everything. Mentally, I was just not focused so I made a promise to myself to just be better.Honestly, I think the move had something to do with it because I had such a good routine in Toronto: Wake up, go to the gym, journal.
Article contentIt was actually a blessing in disguise because that’s when my wife got pregnant so I was there during the whole pregnancy and the whole first year of my daughter’s life. If that didn’t happen, I’d have been gone, right? That’s the life I chose. But besides all the sh***y stuff that happened during the pandemic, I enjoyed being home, just being there and caring for my family. Not yet. But she will come to Canada Day. I’m really curious to see how she reacts.
