The Calgary Catholic School District said in a statement Wednesday that efforts are being made to normalize the service but some routes may not have a stable driver. “Others may have sporadic outages day-to-day, while others may operate normally,” said the statement, adding that the issues exist for all Calgary and area school districts because of the shortage of bus staff.
“We recommend that all families who rely on CCSD-organized transportation should have a backup plan, should service issues happen day-to-day. This could include carpooling, parent pickup and other solutions; we will try to provide as much notice as possible.” The school district encourages those interested in a school bus driver position to check with their carriers, Southland or First Student.Article content
