Gov. Greg Abbott signs bill to create portal comparing value of Texas higher education institutions
The portal will also include the median student loan debt in college and university programs. And the “Know Before You Go” bill will quantify the state’s workforce needs and the “most valuable” programs in the state.
That includes listing the annual starting wage information and educational requirements for the top 25 highest demand jobs in the state, identifying the 40 baccalaureate degree programs with the highest average annual wages after graduation and identifying the 20 associate degrees or certificate programs with the highest average annual wages, according to the bill.
