For years, they have made a port wine called Fort Halifax - 1769, which pays homage to the nearby former outpost that played a part in the French and Indian War.As of last week, a couple of the whites were still hanging from the vines while most of the reds – Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petite Verdot, and Petite Syrah – were also in the final weeks of maturing before getting picked.
