The Prince George Cougars goalie was selected in the fourth-round of the 2022 NHL Draft.
New Jersey Devils Executive Vice President and General Manager Tom Fitzgerald announced Sunday that they had signed goaltender Tyler Brennan to a three-year entry-level contract beginning in 2023-24.
Brennan was drafted in the fourth round of the 2022 NHL Draft. He was the second goaltender to be selected at the draft in Montreal last summer. The Winnipeg, Manitoba, product plays for the Prince George Cougars of the Western Hockey League , where he has garnished a four-year career thus far. He is currently in the second round of the WHL playoffs facing off against the Seattle Thunderbirds, with a 1-1 record of 2.98 goals against average and .882 save percentage.
In 2019-20, Brennan represented Team Canada White at the U-17 World Hockey Challenge; in four games, he posted a 2-2 record and a 3.35 GAA. He would again represent Canada, this time at the IIHF U-18 World Junior Championship in 2020-21 but served as the club’s third strong goaltender behind Thomas Millic and Ben Gaudreau , Mason McTavish , Dylan Guenther and Wyatt Johnston .
