The New Jersey Devils have announced timelines for both Ondrej Palat and Mackenzie Blackwood, who are recovering from groin surgery and an MCL injury, respectively. Palat was one of the biggest free-agent signings of the off-season, but he barely got off the ground running. He appeared in just six games, scoring three goals, prior to getting hurt. His deal, a five-year pact, carries an AAV of $6 million.Prior to joining the Devils, Palat was an integral part of the Lightning’s back-to-back Stanley Cup wins in 2019-20 and 2020-21.Ondrej Palat, who had groin surgery a week ago, to be out 8-10 weeks per Ruff.
