New Jersey's attorney general directed all law-enforcement agencies to begin disclosing the names of officers who have been disciplined for serious violations and misconduct

New Jersey Attorney General Gurbir Grewal directed all law-enforcement agencies in the state to begin disclosing the names of officers who have been disciplined for serious violations and misconduct.

The new directive requires police departments to release the names of officers who have been fired, demoted or suspended for more than five days by the end of the year. The agencies must release those names annually going forward, under the directive.
