A new public French high school for neurodiverse students was inaugurated Tuesday in Hochelaga-Maisonneuve.
The 21-year-old, who is neurodiverse, is enrolled in his first year in the new Irénée-Lussier high school, a French public school in Hochelaga-Maisonneuve.
The school was an idea 15 years in the making, dreamt up by a parent whose neurodiverse child went to the high school over a decade ago, when the classrooms were too small and the school wasn’t well adapted to children’s needs. “They’re going to start to learn how to take care of their home,” Aguiar said. “How to make their beds and cook.”
