To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Mustang, Ford Motor Co. is creating a space for fans to celebrate their own milestones with the iconic pony car.
The automaker on April 17 unveiled the Mustang Experience Center, a gathering space adjacent to the Charlotte Motor Speedway in North Carolina that's set to open next year. The site will include a"heritage gallery," an aftermarket parts shop, a retail store for Mustang merchandise and conference space for corporate events.
Ford marked the 60th anniversary of the Mustang's debut at the 1964 World's Fair in New York with enthusiast gatherings and a special-edition package featuring unique badging, wheel caps and grille design. The center is the latest effort by Ford to create experiences for fans and customers, including driving schools such as the Bronco Off-Roadeo, Mustang Dark Horse Track Attack and Ranger Raptor Assault School.
