The new policy is intended to allow consumers to easily find and compare costs.
Starting Wednesday, internet service providers must publish “nutrition” labels that clearly lay out the fees users might encounter under their service plans as part of a Federal Communications Commission requirement.
The labels are required to be displayed wherever home internet and mobile broadband plans are available, including in stores and online. The companies must also provide the typical download and upload speeds, the amount of data included in the monthly price, and charges for extra data usage.
