The next Fable game has finally gotten a new trailer - starring the one and only Richard Ayoade.
A new trailer at the Xbox showcase has finally revealed more information about the Fable reboot, including an exciting look at gameplay and even an appearance from Richard Ayoade - but still no release date. The beloved fantasy RPG series, which first captured the hearts of fans in 2004, has remained dormant since the release of Fable 3 in 2010. But with no release window after a decade still, it looks like players will have to wait a while longer to return to the magical land of Albion.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT The Xbox June showcase - which was streamed live on Xbox's official YouTube channel on June 11 - revealed a brand-new trailer for the Fable reboot, sadly not announcing a release date or even release window. The official Xbox Twitter account teased Fable's presence at the showcase with a video late last month, which was accompanied by a familiar soundtrack and a suspicious trail of glitter .
Fable Reboot Trailer Reveals New Gameplay Still, Fable reboot's gameplay looks to be a serious step-up from previous titles. Richard Ayoade, famous British comedian and actor, appeared in the trailer, seemingly in the role of a giant enemy to the small, fairy-like player. The trailer also displayed gorgeous graphics, which are to be expected; the Fable reboot is developed on the ForzaTech engine, which had previously only ever been used to develop the Forza racing games.
For almost three years, Playground Games has remained almost completely tight-lipped about the newest entry in the series. A reveal trailer from July 2020's Xbox Showcase - which was purely cinematic, revealing next to nothing about the Fable reboot's story or gameplay - was the only indicator of the upcoming title.
Though much of the game and its contents still remain to be seen, the new Fable reboot trailer revealed at the Xbox June showcase is somewhat of an improvement from the lengthy wait that fans have endured. With a new trailer and a hilarious cameo from Richard Ayoade, the Fable reboot is looking promising, but it looks like players will still have to remain patient for a while longer.
