New F1-inspired hybrid McLaren hypercar reportedly coming in 2026.
The car will use an in-house developed V-8 engine paired to a hybrid system that's 70 percent lighter than the current technology out today, the source told. The source also said the car will have a new carbon fiber monocoque with integrated back seats, similar to an F1 car, added to improve rigidity and cut weight.source.
Referring to the brand's next car, director of product strategy Jamie Corstorphine reportedly told the crowd"Stay tuned. It may have four doors and four seats." The vehicle is reportedly set to arrive in 2028.McLaren's plans to move into the"lifestyle" sector with a new product line, but stopped short of revealing the vehicle as an SUV or a more low-slung sedan.
