New DoctorWho images give fans their first look at Ncuti Gatwa and Millie Gibson in costume.
New images for BBC’s upcoming Doctor Who series have been released. The two images show Ncuti Gatwa, who will be taking over the role of the Doctor from David Tennant, and Millie Gibson in full costume.
Gatwa was cast as the fourteenth Doctor in February . “I’ve known [about having the role] since February of this year, so it’s been tricky trying to keep this under wraps because I’ve got a very big mouth,” Gatwa revealed in a BBC red carpet interview in May. Following Jo Martin’s role in the twelfth season, Rwandan-Scottish actor Gatwa is the second actor of color to take on the role.
The actor also added, “This adventure is going to be so wild and so fun, I cannot WAIT to sail the universe with Millie!” Similarly, Gibson also expressed her excitement to work with Gatwa in her official statement. “It is a gift of a role, and a dream come true, and I will do everything to try and fill the boots the fellow companions have traveled in before me. And what better way to do that than being by the fabulous Ncuti Gatwa’s side, I just can’t wait to get started.
