Brown said she will also help repair some of the trust lost between the city and its residents following the firing of former CAO Peter Kelly in May 2022 and the subsequent investigation thatMesservey alleged the city wasn’t following its own financial rules or the Municipal Government Act . BDO Canada conducted a forensic audit of the city books and delivered a report to council in private earlier this month, a report that still hasn’t been made public.
Brown said the CAO is the only position council hires, adding she’ll be subjected to annual performance reviews.
