The construction projects will take place along two key stretches of Route 11 to improve traffic safety between northern and southeast New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and P.E.I. One of the projects will take place in Saint-Louis de Kent near Route 480 for a new 1.45-kilometre northbound and southbound passing lane.

There will also be a new 1.8-kilometre northbound passing lane and a 2.25-kilometre south passing lane added near Rexton. The new additions are the first in a series of passing lanes planned for the Route 11 corridor between Bouctouche and Miramichi.
