FREDERICTON, N.B. — The New Brunswick government has lowered the minimum age to hunt deer and bears in the province. The provincial government said the change was made to lower the barriers and encourage more New Brunswickers to take part in the big game hunting.
The government is also establishing a one-week extension period for authorized deer licence holders to only hunt with a muzzle-loading firearm following the regular firearms deer hunting season. In addition, a resident bear hunting licence holder can now hunt for up to two bears instead of getting a second licence after harvesting the first bear.
