The city is piloting new cycling infrastructure in Edmonds Town Centre from May to September.
The City of Burnaby is about to launch a four-month cycling pilot project in the Edmonds neighbourhood, and the city wants your feedback.
Beginning in May, residents and cyclists will be able to test new infrastructure and share their experiences with the city on the bike network improvements in the area.
The city says the improvements will be designed to an “all ages and abilities” standard to keep cyclists physically separate from moving vehicles or slowing traffic volumes and speeds for safer cycling. ‘Quick build’ process The city is constructing the bikeways in a “quick build” process, which means using low-cost and adjustable materials within the existing curb-to-curb space, according to the city’s website.Phase 2 of the Edmonds town centre cycling network will include more construction of the network throughout the rest of 2023, using the community feedback received in Phase 1.
