The 2009 movie was ground-breaking in terms of technological and special effects, and became the second-highest-grossing film of all time.
The new trailer for"Avatar: The Way of Water" has been released, revealing some of what is in store for viewers who have been waiting more than a decade to see the sequel to director James Cameron's epic first"Avatar" film.
It followed an epic tale set in the mid-22nd century where humans try to colonize the planet of Pandora for its natural resources, threatening the live of the blue-skinned Na'vi, a humanoid species indigenous to the land. Cameron's new film takes place a decade after the events of the franchise's first film. According to the movie's,"'Avatar: The Way of Water' begins to tell the story of the Sully family , the trouble that follows them, the lengths they go to keep each other safe, the battles they fight to stay alive, and the tragedies they endure."
Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Stephen Lang, CCH Pounder and Giovanni Ribisi are among those reprising their roles from the original film, with Sigourney Weaver back playing a different role: one of Jake and Neytiri's children.
