As part of its 110th anniversary celebrations, AstonMartin will pull the wraps off a new model at Pebble Beach, tipped to be the DB12 Volante -
The DB12 Volante will share some of its technical makeup with its predecessor, but most of its componentry will be new; not least a more powerful AMG-derived 4-litre twin-turbocharged V8. Emissions regulations mean that Aston’s 5.2-litre V12 won’t find a home in any variant of the DB12, but with peaks of 671bhp and 590lb ft, the new V8 is a worthy successor for sheer firepower.
The DB12 Volante will also adopt the coupe’s more menacing DBS-inspired design language, albeit with a fabric roof and extra bracing in its structure – for reference, the DB11 Volante weighed 110kg more than the hardtop with its reinforced chassis.
