was the last novel Jane Austen ever wrote before her death. It follows our heroine Anne Elliott , an unmarried woman on the 'older' side. She's 27. Oh, how times have changed.
The story is one of classic Austen love and heartbreak – Anne reconnects with an old flame, after seven years of being apart . Netflix describes Dakota's character as "an unconforming woman with modern sensibilities” who is “living with her snobby family on the brink of bankruptcy”.
The love interest is played by Cosmo Johnson, and Henry Golding is playing the role of Anne’s cousin Mr Elliot. Golding's character is set to be "the callous and classic Austen foil", which is a new light for us to see thestar take on – we can't quite imagine Henry being anything but a rom-com heartthrob, but we can't wait to see how he transforms for the role.
