Don't expect your borrowed Netflix password to last forever.
The new sharing rules now apply in Canada, New Zealand, Portugal and Spain. The move has been hedged with the option to add a"sub account," essentially allowing people outside of a household to use the same account. Fees for sub accounts amount to roughly to $5 to $6 in U.S.
currency, a few bucks cheaper than Netflix's basic $9.99 plan. It is unclear how these sub accounts will clash with Netflix's rules on simultaneous streaming. Currently on its basic plans, only one device can stream Netflix at a time, whereas the standard plan allows two concurrent streams from separate locations, and premium members get four streams.
