TORONTO — France’s renewable energy giant Neoen has announced that its subsidiary Shift Solar has been awarded a 380-megawatt capacity contract by Ontario’s Independent Electricity System Operator and will be building Canada’s second largest battery project for energy storage, in Bruce County, Ont.

Neoen, through its subsidiary Shift Solar, will be the long-term owner and operator of the battery. Grey Owl Storage will become the largest in Neoen’s portfolio.
