Unofficial vote counts in Calgary-Acadia and Calgary-Glenmore were within 100 ballots after the May 29 election, triggering mandatory recounts in both ridings. When polls closed, NDP candidates were leading their UCP counterparts by slim margins in each constituency — the NDP’s Diana Batten had seven votes over Shandro in Calgary-Acadia, and Nagwan Al-Guneid had a 30-vote lead on former minister Whitney Issik in Calgary-Glenmore.
