The NDP has become the Official Opposition in Nova Scotia after a significant electoral performance that left the Liberals and their leader in a weakened position. NDP leader Claudia Chender, the first woman to lead the opposition in the province, secured her riding of Dartmouth South. As of 10:45 p.m. Atlantic, PC candidate Nick Hilton was in the lead with 50 per cent of the vote.
