Being the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA men’s basketball tournament comes with some perks.

Kansas would almost certainly pick Kansas City, a 40-mile drive from the Lawrence, Kan., campus. Birmingham and Louisville would be in close proximity to Alabama. UCLA could opt to play in Vegas, where the Pac-12 tournament is held.
A year ago, the Cougars, a No. 5 seed, opened in Pittsburgh before advancing to the South Region in San Antonio.
