Lauren Raven cools off with her daughter Omi, 2, at Richard Simpson Park on Lake Arlington with the Handley Generating Station in the background in Arlington. The potential for isolated showers and storms will continue into this afternoon, but most areas will likely stay dry. Friday and Saturday will be dry, but rain chances return Sunday.
There will be a warmup Friday and Saturday with highs in the mid to upper 90s, but it will be short-lived. A significant change in our weather pattern will lead to a cool and potentially wet week next week. Each day features a good chance of showers and storms with highs in the 80s. The rain potential across all of North Texas next week will be one to three inches with isolated areas receiving higher amounts. Mostly cloudy and cooler with a 40% chance of thunderstorms, ending by early afternoon.
