A weak cold front may bring a stray thunderstorm to North Texas on Monday. 🌦️ An Excessive Heat Warning remains in effect with highs reaching the low-100s.
A weak frontal boundary will move into North Texas on Monday, bringing a few isolated showers and storms. While rain chances will be very limited and much of the area will stay dry, those that do have thunderstorms on Monday could also see strong wind gusts.
Along with the intense heat, the fire danger will remain elevated, especially for areas west of I-35. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles. According to the National Safety Council, if it's 95 degrees outside the internal temperature of a car could climb to 129 degrees in 30 minutes. After just 10 minutes, temperatures inside could reach 114 degrees.
