The Warriors need to beat the Lakers to keep their season alive.
The Warriors may rightfully feel like they blew a great chance to win on Monday in Game 4, with Steph Curry’s 31-point triple-double leading the way. But without a supporting cast that stepped up adequately, the Dubs are now down 3-1.
If any core could feel comfortable in the most uncomfortable playoff position imaginable, though, it would be this group of Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and coach Steve Kerr. They’ve come back to win one series from down 3-1, blown a 3-1 lead themselves — to current Lakers star LeBron James, too — and even had a near-comeback happen.
There’s a reason why only 13 teams out of 277 have been able to make that comeback, though. It’s really, really hard. But that’s what this Warriors team will have to do in order to keep this season going — and possibly even keep this core together beyond this year. Follow along with our reporters Madeline Kenney, Curtis Pashelka, Shayna Rubin and columnist Dieter Kurtenbach and other analysts providing their thoughts about the game.
