Former Rutgers star Caleb McConnell's professional basketball career began in earnest early Friday morning.
and the Reese’s Division I All-Star game at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas, ahead of the NCAA Tournament’s Final Four.
“This is a position I knew I would be in as far as being undrafted and taking that route,” McConnell said. “I have no problem taking this route. I’ve been an underdog before. I actually look forward to it. I had a best friend that did it in Ron Harper, he’s doing it now and he’s doing just fine with it. If he can do it, I know for sure I can do it.”
McConnell averaged 9.1 points on 39.5% shooting to go with 5.5 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 2.5 steals and 2.1 turnovers across 31.7 minutes per game last season.
