The U.S. Navy will open a second investigation into the coronavirus outbreak aboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt, a top official said Wednesday, delaying action on a recommendation that the aircraft carrier’s commander, Capt. Brett Crozier, be reinstated to duty.
Capt. Crozier was removed from his post April 2 after writing and distributing a memo demanding a more aggressive Navy response to the coronavirus outbreak. Following a first investigation, the Navy recommended last week that Capt. Crozier be reinstated.
