For her part, Evans is pleased to be this year’s chosen artist. A visual artist for almost six decades, she was taught and mentored by Group of Seven member Arthur Lismer. Her style of painting showcasing landscapes, seascapes, animals and nature in North America has been dubbed “Brickilism” Evans is an elected member of the Federation of Canadian Artists, Artists for Conservation and the Canadian Society of Artists.
