Kligerman wins in Trucks at Mid-Ohio; Austin Hill takes the Xfinity top prize at Atlanta.
.Part-timer Parker Kligerman showed he’s not a one-track wonder by winning the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series O’Reilly Auto Parts 150 at Mid-Ohio.
Later in the day, Austin Hill of Winston, Ga. held off an eight-car pack on the last lap to win the Alsco Xfinity Series 150 at AMS. It had been a lifelong goal to win a major event in his home state’s biggest track, where he was second in the spring Xfinity race and had runner-up finishes in the Truck Series in 2020 and 2021.
The runner-up finish padded Zane Smith’s points lead to 58 over John Hunter Nemechek and Chandler Smith. The rest of the top 10 going into the July 23 race at Pocono: Friesen , Ben Rhodes , Ty Majeski , Eckes , Hocevar , Grant Enfinger , and Matt Crafton .• Hill got his second Xfinity Series victory of the season—the other, at Daytona Beach in February, was the first of his career—by .111 seconds in the 163-lap, 251-mile race at AMS.
