The multi-truck crash occurred when Sanchez tried to charge through the middle of the pack, creating a three-wide situation. Sanchez and Crafton collided, triggering the melee. Sanchez recovered and finished seventh, while Crafton had to settle for 24th. Sanchez told reporters he was walking to his hauler, got tapped on his back and when he turned around, he got “sucker punched” in the face. A fight erupted and by the time they were separated Sanchez had a bloody face. He went to the infield care center. Sanchez didn’t require stitches but thought he might have a broken nose.
